Please note that to do this your processor must be multi core (Core2 Duo,Quad, dual Core…etc). What this tweak does is speed up the PC bootup time by using multiple processors.
1. In the start menu search area type “msconfig” and press enter.
2. Now you should see the System Configuration window. and in that window select the “Boot” tab.
3. Click the Advanced Options button.
4. Check the Number of Processors box and select the maximum cores you have for maximum performance also check the “Detect HAL” Box
5. Check the “Make all boot settings permanent” check box in the Boot tab.
6. Click yes at the confirmation prompt and press OK in the System Configuration window.
7. Now you will be presented with another prompt telling you to restart. Close your running applications, save your work and press restart.
Now your startup time should be less.
